"Toxic Vernacular" is a collaborative installation developed for "You Are Here," a web of environmental art exhibitions in conjunction with an environmental policy summit, "Women Assessing the State of the Environment." Composed of muslin yardage dipped in Pittsburgh-area waterways, and found objects and water samples from each of seven sites, the installation makes evident our contradictory perceptions of the land, which we simultaneously foul and venerate. Toxic Vernacular was recently exhibited at Lycoming College, Williamsport, PA. For additional images and information, go to Ann's web site: Studio Tara/Projects.
